Vocabulary: Amusing ways to call somebody “Idiot”

It’s not courteous to call someone a fool or an idiot but sometimes situation demands that the mischief maker should be branded as “moron” or “halfwit”. At times in informal communications we use these less than offensive words. In this blog we bring you alternate polite phrases that can be used instead of the word “idiot”.

Dude, don’t be such a fool! They are just taking advantage of your good nature.



I still marvel at her audacity to call you “cretin” in front of senior management and managing director.



Police shouldn’t let these thoughtless morons get away with mindless vandalism every weekend.



She’s always jokingly calling her best friend a dolt. And he too accepts friendly insults with a wide grin.



You’re such a doofus who paid  Rs 30,000 price for that crappy second-hand laptop. You should have thought it through.



The worst part was listening to those bunch of halfwits in the cafeteria. That’s just egregious.



You’re a dimwit if you think I’ll sell my Audi A3 for that price. You must shell out much more than you’re willing.



I want nothing to do with that bunch of nitwits! I wish you hadn’t invited these morons to the party.



Only an imbecile would leave his SUV unlocked, with the keys in the ignition, and then act surprised when the vehicle was stolen.



The driving instructions were so complicated I felt like a complete simpleton.



The people running that e-commerce company are a bunch of nincompoops! The company is losing market share to the competitors.  



He drank too much and started acting like a complete bozo. Next time don’t let that party-pooper enter your home.


Thickhead or Blockhead

He has earned a reputation as a typical blockhead who is known for creating their own T-shirts for that stupid band.



I can’t believe they let an ignoramus like that run 100-year-old automobile company. His predecessor was a real marketing maven.



Yesterday, some dipstick in the metro tried to steal my wallet but got caught. And later he was beaten to death and busted.
